Welcome!

Unlike many other travel and news publications on the internet, Our Public Lands & Waters and all its social media channels are created, written, managed, and kept up-to-date by just one person—and that’s me: Bram.

In the past decade, I’ve spent much of my time exploring America’s cherished national parks and precious public lands, from the coasts of Maine and the wetlands of Florida to the fjords of Alaska, forests of the Pacific Northwest, and canyons of the Southwest.

As our public lands and waters face an unprecedented combination of challenges, from logging, mining, and drilling to privatization, budget cuts, and staff reductions, it’s crucial to both stay informed and keep speaking up for these spectacular-yet-vulnerable places. This is the place to do that.

This is where you’ll find breaking news and opinion pieces about conservation, wildlife management, and environmental issues, as well as historical events that took place on public lands (linked to the present).
